Vastralok

If you go down Papanna Street near St. Marks Road, you’ll find us. Vastralok is just a small shop tucked away in a busy part of town. It’s always noisy outside because of the traffic on St. Marks Road, but inside it’s a bit quieter. We spend our days surrounded by piles of clothes. There isn't a lot of room to move around, especially when a new shipment comes in and we have to stack boxes in the aisles. We don't have a receptionist or a waiting room. You just walk in and we’re right there working at the counter. The floor is a bit uneven and the paint is peeling in the corners, but it doesn't bother us much. We’ve been here long enough that we don’t even notice the cracks anymore. Most of our customers are regulars who live or work nearby. We don't do any big sales or promotions. We just put out what we have and people buy what they need. Sometimes we sit on the steps outside when things are slow and watch the people go by. It’s a good way to pass the time and get some fresh air. We don’t have a complicated system for how we run things. We just write things down in a ledger and hope we didn't forget anything. It’s a bit old-fashioned, but it’s how we’ve always done it here on Papanna Street.
