Sri Vinayaka Florist

We are right across from the church in Wilson Garden, specifically at number 2. Shivaji Nagar is always busy, so there’s always something happening outside our door. Sri Vinayaka Florist has been here for a good bit of time now. We mostly spend our mornings sorting through stems and getting fresh water in the buckets. It gets a bit messy with leaves on the floor, but that's just part of working with flowers. Since we are near the church, we see a lot of people coming and going for different things throughout the week. Some people stop in because they saw the colors from the street while they were walking by. We don't really do much advertising or anything like that; people just know we're here. We keep the shop open early because that’s when the fresh stuff arrives from the market. Sometimes it gets a bit cramped inside when we have a lot of stock, but we manage to move things around. It’s a small space, really. We just trim the roses and tie up the bouquets as people ask for them. The smell of the jasmine is usually pretty strong throughout the day, which is nice. We are just local people who know a bit about plants and flowers. If you're walking around Shivaji Nagar, you’ll see us there. The address is pretty easy to find once you see the church building. We just keep our heads down and keep the flowers fresh. It’s a simple living and we like being part of the neighborhood here.
