Sri Ram Engineers

At Sri Ram Engineers, we are mostly focused on the mechanical side of things under the Innovation India name. Our workshop is usually a mess of metal shavings and old blueprints spread out on benches. We don't really have a front desk person. If you walk in, you’ll probably find us near the lathe or the welding machine. It’s noisy and there are sparks flying more often than not. We spend a lot of time measuring things twice because mistakes cost too much in materials. Engineering sounds like a clean job in books, but here it’s mostly about getting your hands black with grease and graphite. We take on jobs that other shops find too small or too annoying. Sometimes we sit for an hour just staring at a broken part trying to figure out how to replicate it. We don't have a big marketing team or a website that looks fancy. Most people find us because they know we can fix things. The air smells like burnt metal and cutting fluid. It’s what we are used to. We don't bother with uniforms; we just wear whatever can get dirty. We keep the machines running until they can't go anymore, then we fix them too. It’s a lot of physical labor mixed with some thinking. That’s how we’ve always done it. Sometimes a customer brings in a piece of equipment that looks like it belongs in a museum, and we still have to figure out how to make it spin again.
