Sri Murugan Engineering Works

You can find us at 8-A on Athipalayam Road. Sri Murugan Engineering Works has been sitting here in Chinnavedampatti for a long time. It’s usually loud because of the machines running, but that’s the sound of work. We have grease on our hands most of the day. It’s not the cleanest place, but it’s where things get made. We don’t have a front desk person or a waiting room with magazines. If you come by, you’ll probably find us out back near the tools. The floor is concrete and there are metal scraps in the corners. We just focus on the tasks people bring us. Sometimes a job takes longer than we thought, and we stay late to finish it. That’s just part of it. We use the same old machines we’ve had for years because they still work fine. No need for fancy new gadgets if the old ones do the trick. We talk to each other over the noise of the drills. It’s a simple setup. We don’t do much advertising. People usually find us because they live nearby or heard about us from a friend. It’s a honest day’s labor. We close up when the sun goes down and head home, then come back and do it all again the next morning. There’s always something that needs fixing or making, so we stay pretty busy all through the week.
