About Sri Murali Tea House – Food & Beverages in Bengaluru
If you walk down Avenue Road and turn toward Anand Mahal Road, you’ll find us at number 10. Sri Murali Tea House is a busy little corner, especially in the mornings when everyone is rushing to open their shops. We don't have much seating, so most people just stand around the counter and talk while they drink their tea. It’s loud out there with all the traffic and people shouting, but inside the shop, it’s mostly just the sound of the milk boiling and the tea being poured between containers. We make it the old way, with plenty of ginger and sugar unless someone asks for it plain. The tea dust we use comes from a supplier we’ve known for twenty years. Sometimes we run out of snacks by the afternoon because the local workers come by and buy everything up for their breaks. It’s a small family operation. My son helps out after his college classes are done, and my wife manages the accounts in the evenings. We’ve seen the road change quite a bit over the years. Some shops closed down and new ones opened, but we’ve stayed right here at number 10. We don't do any big advertising or anything like that. The smell of the tea usually brings people in well enough. It is a simple life, just making tea and chatting with the regulars who have been coming here since they were young. It gets hot near the stove, but we are used to the heat by now.
