Sri Manjunatha Swamy Traders

Sri Manjunatha Swamy Traders is based in Ganigarpet at number 28. This part of the city is very old and the streets are quite narrow. You can always hear the sound of people talking and carts moving on the pavement. We have been in this shop for many years. It is a traditional trading business where we deal in various bulk goods. The interior of the shop is filled with sacks and containers stacked high up. We don't have a modern office or air conditioning. It’s just a place of work with a wooden desk and some old scales. The air often smells of the products we are moving that day. We start our day very early, usually before the sun is fully up, to get ready for the market rush. Most of our customers are people we have known for a very long time. It’s a community where a handshake still means something. We don't use computers for everything; a lot of it is still written down by hand. It’s a very physical job, moving heavy bags and organizing the inventory. We don't have a website or a social media page. If people need us, they know where we are at number 28. It’s a simple, honest way to make a living. We’ve seen many changes in Ganigarpet, but our little corner has stayed pretty much the same through the years.
