Sri Kamal Silks

You can find us tucked away in Binnypet, right on A M Lane near the Thigalarpet area. Finding the place can be a bit of a challenge if you aren't familiar with the S P Road Cross shortcuts. It's a crowded part of the city, but it has a lot of energy. Our shop, Sri Kamal Silks, isn't very large, but we pack a lot into the space we have. There are stacks of fabric everywhere you look. Usually, the lights are bright so we can see the patterns clearly, and the ceiling fan hums all day long. We spend most of our time folding and unfolding things for people who drop by. Some days are quiet and we just sit and talk, while other days are so busy we barely have time for lunch. The tea guy comes around twice a day, which is the highlight for most of us. We've been in this spot for quite some time now, and we know the other shopkeepers on the lane pretty well. It’s a bit dusty outside because of the construction nearby, but inside it’s just us and the stock. We don't have a big corporate team, just a few of us who know where everything is kept. If you need something specific, you usually have to wait a minute while we dig through the back shelves. It is a bit disorganized sometimes, but we always find what we are looking for eventually.
