Sreeraj Lassi Bar

Sreeraj Lassi Bar is over in Jayanagar at 196/B1. It’s a place that’s been around, and we just keep doing what we’ve always done. Jayanagar is a great neighborhood, and our spot at 196/B1 is right in the middle of things. We spend most of our mornings getting the yogurt ready and making sure we have enough ice. It’s a simple operation, really. We have some large metal containers and a few blenders that are always running. The sound of the ice being crushed is something you get used to. People come in mostly when it’s hot outside, looking for something cold. We don’t have much in the way of furniture, just a few stools and a counter where people can stand. It’s not meant for long stays. You come in, get your drink, and move on. The street outside is usually busy with shoppers and people going to the park. We’ve had the same sign for years, and the walls could probably use a fresh coat of paint, but it works for us. We aren't trying to be a modern cafe or anything like that. We are just a lassi bar in Jayanagar. It’s a lot of manual work, lifting heavy crates and cleaning up spills. But it’s our job, and we’ve been doing it a long time. It’s a straightforward life here. We just serve the drinks and keep the place going.
