Banashankari has changed a lot since we first opened our doors. Now there are more shops and more people looking for a place to stay. We spend a lot of time walking around showing houses to folks who aren't sure what they want yet. Our office is quite plain, just some maps on the wall and a few old folders. We don't use any fancy software to keep our records, just a notebook and memory. People stop by to ask about rents or if anyone is selling their land nearby. Sometimes we sit on the steps outside and talk to the neighbors. It is a local business and we know the streets here very well. We don't promise anything we can't do. If a house has a leaky roof, we tell the person looking at it. It is better to be honest about these things. The 1st Stage is a good neighborhood to work in. It feels like home to us. We’ve been here at number 51 for a long time. Business goes up and down depending on the month. We just keep the door open and wait to see who comes in next. It’s a quiet way to make a living and we don't plan on moving anywhere else. The neighborhood knows us by now and that is enough for us.
