We are right on the Mysore Road in Kengeri, at numbers 15/16. It’s a very busy spot with all the trucks and buses flying past all day. You can hear the horns constantly from inside the shop. We mostly deal with trade goods, so there is always something being loaded or unloaded. The floor is concrete and a bit cracked in places. We have a small cabin in the back where we keep the ledgers. It gets quite dusty because of the main road, so we have to wipe things down often. We’ve been in Kengeri for a good while. Most of the people around here know us. We don't spend money on fancy decorations or bright lights. It’s a practical space for practical work. Sometimes the traffic is so bad that our deliveries get stuck for an hour just a mile away. We just sit and wait, maybe have a tea. The staff here are locals. We know how the market goes and what people need. It’s hard work, lifting and moving stuff, but it keeps us busy. We don't have a big website or a social media person. We just answer the phone and talk to whoever walks through the door. It’s how we’ve always done things here on the highway. The overhead lights flicker sometimes but we haven't gotten around to fixing the wiring yet. It works for now.
