Down on 8th Main in JP Nagar, you’ll find us at number 42. It’s a nice enough area, though the 2nd Phase gets quite crowded in the evenings. We deal with spices mostly. The whole office smells like cumin and pepper. It’s a small space, so the scent is really strong. I started this because I always liked the way fresh spices looked and felt. We spend a lot of time sorting through bags and checking for quality. It’s not very glamorous. We spend most of our time on the phone or packing small jars. Sometimes the dust from the spices makes us sneeze, which is just part of the job. We have a couple of people helping with the deliveries. We aren't some giant company with hundreds of employees. It’s just us trying to get things right. The shelves are filled with different colored powders and dried leaves. We try to keep things neat, but when a big shipment arrives, the floor gets covered in boxes. We don't have a big marketing team or anything like that. We just focus on the spices and the customers who call us up. It’s a steady kind of work. We show up, do our tasks, and go home to our families. It’s a good way to spend the day and it keeps us busy.
