Working at Plot No. -115 on Cotton Pet Main Road means you’re always in the middle of the chaos. It’s a very busy part of town, right opposite Hotel Vandana, so there’s never a quiet moment from morning until night. We’ve got the heavy grinders going almost constantly, and the noise is something you just have to get used to if you work here. It’s a workspace first and foremost. We have bags of raw beans stacked up almost to the ceiling sometimes, which makes the place feel even smaller. It’s a lot of heavy lifting, moving those sacks from the trucks into the back room. We spend our days roasting and grinding for the people who walk in off the street. Most of them have been buying from us for years and don't even have to say what they want. The machines are old and they require a lot of oiling and maintenance to keep them from jamming up during the rush. It’s a bit dusty and the air is always thick with the smell of dark roast. We don't have a fancy waiting area or anything like that for people to lounge in. They just stand around the machines and watch the coffee come out. It’s an honest way to make a living. We just focus on the work and try to keep up with the demand from the local shops. It’s loud, busy, and exactly where we belong.
