My father is Murugan and we are from Kottavoor village. That’s in the Erisigalaahalli post area of Palacode, over in Dharmapuri. I work as a service engineer around these parts. It’s a lot of traveling between villages and small towns to fix equipment. I don't have a fancy shop in the city. Most of my work happens on-site where the machines actually are. I carry my tools in a bag on my bike and head out early. Dharmapuri can get quite hot, but I’m used to it by now. I learned most of my engineering skills by helping out and watching others. It is all about practical experience. If something is broken, you have to be patient to find out why. I don't use any high-tech software to manage my day. I just remember who I need to see and where the problems are. People in the village know me and my family. They know I’ll show up when I say I will. I don't make big speeches or use corporate talk. I just focus on the bolts and the wires. It’s a good life, being able to help people get their work back on track. Sometimes the parts take a few days to arrive from the city, but I do what I can in the meantime. It is just steady, honest work for me. I like the feeling of fixing something that was completely stuck before.
