Pitambari Collection

Pitambari Collection is tucked away in the maze of Chikpet. If you know the area, you know how crowded it gets, especially near the D. K Lane cross. We are up on the second floor of Savanguru Plaza, specifically in units 43 and 44. It is a bit of a climb if the lift is acting up, which happens more often than we would like. Being near Manek Meva helps people find us though. The space isn't huge, but we pack a lot into it. Every morning starts with moving boxes around so there is room to walk. It is noisy outside with all the rickshaws and people shouting, but inside it is mostly just the sound of us folding clothes and talking to whoever walks in. We have been at this for some time. Some days are slow and we just sit and drink tea while looking at the inventory. Other days, everyone comes in at once and it is a bit of a scramble. The lighting in the plaza isn't the brightest, so we added a few extra bulbs ourselves. It feels like a real workspace, not one of those shiny malls where everything looks fake. We keep things simple here. If someone asks for something we don't have, we just tell them straight. There is no point in pretending. We stay late most nights, especially during the festival months when the whole of Chikpet stays awake. It is tiring but this is how we work.
