We operate out of Nandini Layout, right near the Mahalakshmi Last Bus Stop. Being near the bus stop is handy because it’s a landmark everyone knows. We’ve been in this part of the city for a long time and seen the houses go up one by one. Our office is a small room with a few chairs for when people drop by to chat. It’s usually just a couple of us here, looking over maps or checking on different properties in the area. The walls are covered with notes and some old calendars. It gets a bit dusty because of the road but we try to keep it tidy enough. People from the neighborhood stop in just to say hello sometimes since we’re right there by the stop. We don't really have a big staff, just the folks who know the layout well. We spend a lot of time out walking around the blocks or talking to the owners nearby. It’s a very local kind of life here in Nandini Layout. We don't do much in terms of advertising, word of mouth is usually how people find us. When the buses pull in at the end of the line, it makes a specific sound we’ve all grown used to. It’s a simple business and we like being in a place where we know the people and the streets so well. It is home.
