Sakhi Fashions

Our shop is located at 305 on the 6th Main in Defence Colony, which is a much quieter part of town compared to the market areas. There are big trees outside that keep the street shaded, so it stays a bit cooler here during the summer. We are in the HAL 2nd Stage area, and most of our neighbors are people who have lived here for decades. Inside at Sakhi Fashions, we have racks of clothes and a couple of large mirrors for people to use. The space is bright because we have big windows facing the street. We spend the morning steaming the fabrics and making sure everything looks decent on the hangers. It is usually just a couple of us working at a time, so we get to know the people who stop by pretty well. We don't really do much advertising; people just seem to know we are here. Sometimes a cat from the neighborhood wanders in, and we have to gently shoo it out. There is a small sitting area with a few old magazines where people can wait while their friends try things on. It is a relaxed pace of life here. We close up in the evening when the streetlights come on and the neighborhood gets even quieter. It’s a nice spot to spend the day working.
