S N R Silk Fabrics

Down at 68 Kamakshi Palya, you’ll find us at S N R Silk Fabrics. The shop is usually full of rolls of fabric and the smell of new cloth. It’s a busy neighborhood, and we’ve been part of it for a long time now. We spend most of our days measuring out silk and talking to folks who come in looking for something specific for a wedding or a festival. It gets pretty crowded in here sometimes, especially when a few families come in at once and everyone starts pulling out different colors. We don’t have a fancy showroom with bright lights and mirrors everywhere. It’s more of a traditional shop where you can see the work that goes into the fabrics. Sometimes the shelves get a bit messy because we’re constantly moving things around, but we know where everything is. Kamakshi Palya has a certain energy to it that we really like. There’s always someone passing by or a vehicle unloading something nearby. We’ve seen the area change quite a bit over the years, but our shop stays pretty much the same. We enjoy the process of showing the silk to people and seeing them find what they want. It’s honest work and it keeps us busy from morning until we close the shutters at night. No big bells and whistles here, just plenty of silk and a lot of daily conversation with our regulars.
