Redsun Coorg Filter Coffee is over in Periyar Nagar, specifically at Shop No. 2 in Chidambaram Colony. We’ve been in this little corner of the neighborhood for some time. It’s 3A on the map if you're looking for us. We focus on filter coffee because that’s what we know. It’s a small shop, not much bigger than a garage really. We don't have fancy sofas or air conditioning. It’s just a place to stand or sit on a stool and have a drink. We get our beans and do the roasting and grinding ourselves most of the time. The smell is the best part of the job. We don’t spend money on ads. People find us by word of mouth or by just walking past. It’s a quiet colony for the most part, which we like. We know most of the people who live in the houses nearby. They come in with their own flasks sometimes. We fill them up and they go on their way. It’s a very simple way of doing things. We don't have a big corporate office. Everything happens right here in Shop No. 2. We try to keep the place tidy, but it's a working shop, so there's always something to do. We just keep our heads down and serve the coffee. It's a steady life. We don't want to be a big chain. Just staying here in Chidambaram Colony is plenty for us. There is always a fresh pot ready.
