We operate out of 138(162) Kengeri Byrathi Cross, which is located on the Hennur Bagalur Road. This area used to be much quieter, but now it’s full of new developments and constant movement. Our office is a straightforward place. We have some large tables where we spread out maps and documents. The floor is tiled but usually has a bit of red soil on it from people coming in from the nearby construction sites. We spend a lot of time on the phone or meeting people to talk about different plots and buildings. It’s not a corporate setting with suits and ties. We usually just wear regular shirts and trousers that can handle a day out in the sun. The Hennur Bagalur Road is always busy with trucks and bikes, so it can get pretty noisy at the Byrathi Cross junction. We have a small pantry in the back where we make our own tea. There are stacks of files in the corners, some of them quite old now. We’ve seen this neighborhood grow from almost nothing into a bustling part of the city. We know which lanes get flooded when it rains and where the best local snacks are. Our work is mostly about listening to what people need and trying to find a way to help them out. It’s a lot of paperwork and a lot of driving around to show people different spots. We just take it one day at a time.
