Ravi Stores

Ravi Stores is tucked away on Old Market Road in Shivaji Nagar. If you know the area, we are right at 3rd Cross on Commercial Street, house number 32. It’s a very old part of the city and the streets are quite narrow. We’ve been operating from this same spot for years. The shop is full of all kinds of small items and household goods. Because it’s an old building, the ceilings are a bit high but the floor space is tight. We have boxes stacked up in the corners because there never seems to be enough shelf space. Dealing with the traffic on Commercial Street is a daily thing for us. It gets really crowded, especially in the evenings when everyone is out shopping. We spend a lot of time talking to the regulars who have been coming here since they were kids. It’s not a shiny new mall store, just a basic place with wooden counters and old-fashioned shelves. Sometimes the power goes out and we have to use flashlights for a bit. The sign outside is a little faded from the sun, but people know where we are. We try to keep the stock moving so nothing sits on the shelf for too long. It’s a lot of manual work, lifting crates and moving things around to make room for new stuff. That’s just life here at the shop in Shivaji Nagar. We keep it simple and stay busy with the local crowd every single day.
