Ramu Coffee & Tea Service

You can find us in BTM Layout 2nd Stage, over on 16th Main at number 41. It’s a busy spot, especially with all the offices and shops nearby. Ramu Coffee & Tea Service isn't a big cafe or anything. It’s more of a place where you stop for a quick drink while you’re on your way somewhere else. We spend a lot of time hovering over the big tea urns and the milk boilers. The steam makes it a bit damp inside, especially during the monsoon season. We start very early, usually before the sun is even up, because that’s when the first group of workers comes through. We don’t really have a place for people to sit down and relax for hours. It’s more of a standing-room kind of situation out front. We get to know people’s orders after they’ve been coming here for a week or two. You don’t even have to ask sometimes, you just see them coming and start pouring. The noise from the 16th Main road is constant, and there’s always someone honking their horn outside. We just keep pouring tea and coffee until the pots are empty. It’s a simple life, honestly. There isn’t much to say about the decor because there isn’t any. We just have our equipment and a few shelves for supplies. We just focus on getting the drinks out fast so people aren't late for their jobs. That’s what we do every day without fail.
