We run our car rental thing out of Amruthahalli, specifically at 369 Lamington Road. It is tucked right behind the granite factory, so there is usually a bit of dust around the yard. We spend a good chunk of our morning washing the cars and checking the oil. The traffic on Lamington Road can get pretty bad, especially during the rush hours, so we tell our drivers to head out early. We have a small office where we keep the keys and the logbooks. It is not fancy at all. There is a noisy fan and a few plastic chairs for when people come to pick up a vehicle. We handle a lot of phone calls throughout the day. People need cars for weddings or just to get to the airport. Sometimes a car comes back with a flat tire or a scratch, and we have to get that sorted before the next person takes it. It keeps us busy. The granite factory next door makes a lot of noise, but we have grown used to it over the years. We keep a pot of tea going most of the afternoon. Our drivers are local guys who know the shortcuts around the city, which helps. It is a simple operation really. We just try to keep the cars running well and make sure the paperwork is in order for every trip. We are just local people doing our daily work.
