Working as a Project Engineer at Prism Surface Coatings Pvt. Ltd. keeps me pretty busy these days. I’m based out of Malleshwaram, which is one of those parts of Bangalore that still feels like the old city despite all the new stuff popping up. My specific spot is at No.37, Mews Bhooma Hostel on 17th Cross. It’s a lively area with the 6th Main right there, so there is always something going on outside the window. We mostly deal with surface coatings and industrial finishes, which is a lot more technical than people think when they first hear about it. It’s not just about painting things; it’s about making sure the materials can actually stand up to whatever they’re going to face out in the real world. I spend a lot of my time checking on batches and making sure the application process is going according to the specs. It’s a lot of back-and-forth between the office and the facility. Malleshwaram is a great place to be because everything is close by, even if the traffic on the main roads can be a bit of a nightmare during the rush hours. I’ve been here a while and I’ve gotten to know the rhythms of the neighborhood. It’s a practical, straightforward job and I like the fact that I’m working in a place with so much local history around me. There isn't much more to it than that.
