If you’re walking down Victoria Road near the Old Madras Road intersection, you might see our office at 33 Shivaji Nagar. It’s on the 6th Cross, tucked away a bit. Phoenix Realtors is basically just a couple of desks, a few maps on the wall, and a very busy telephone. We spend most of our time talking to people who are looking for a place to stay or trying to figure out what to do with their land. It’s a lot of walking around, showing houses in the heat, and waiting for people who are running late because of the traffic. This part of town is always changing, with new buildings going up and old ones getting torn down, so there’s always something to keep track of. Our chairs are a bit old and the tea we serve is usually too sweet, but it’s a comfortable enough spot to sit and talk about property. We don't do anything fancy with brochures or big ads. Mostly, it’s just word of mouth and people seeing our board when they drive past the cross. Sometimes the paperwork gets piled up on the desks and we have to spend a whole Saturday just sorting through folders and making phone calls to owners. It’s not a glamorous job, but it keeps us busy and we know the neighborhood pretty well by now after being here for so long.
