Pepper Cafe

Ulsoor is a busy place, and Sant Nagar 9 is where we set up this little cafe. It is nothing too big. Just a few tables and a kitchen where we make things we like to eat. We didn’t really plan much when we started, we just knew the area needed a place to sit for a minute. Most days it is quiet in the afternoon, but then the evening crowd comes in. We do a lot of cleaning because of the dust from the road, but that is part of being here. The menu is just written on a board. We change it when we feel like it or if we run out of something. It is mostly us and a couple of helpers running around. We don't wear uniforms or anything like that. It feels more like a living room sometimes than a shop. If the food is taking a bit long, people usually don’t mind. They just look out at the street. We’ve had the same chairs since we opened, and they are still holding up okay. We get a mix of people, some young kids and some older folks who have lived in Ulsoor forever. It is a decent spot to spend an hour. We don't try to be anything we aren’t. It’s just Pepper Cafe, right there on the corner. We stay open late enough for the last commuters heading home.
