Paras Silk Emporium

Paras Silk Emporium is up on the second floor of building number 87 on C.T. Street. We are right above the Union Bank of India in Malka Market. If you know this area, you know how narrow the stairs can be and how crowded the streets are with people looking for sarees and silk. It’s a bit of a climb, but once you get inside, it’s a lot calmer than the street below. We have stacks and stacks of silk fabrics and sarees all over the place. The lighting isn't the best, but we try to make sure you can see the colors properly. We’ve been in Malka Market for a long time. It is a traditional kind of place. We don't have air conditioning or fancy lounge chairs. Most of our customers are people who have been coming to us for years or their kids who are now getting married. We just sit on the floor or on small stools and show the fabrics. It is a very hands-on way of doing business. The noise from the traffic on C.T. Street always drifts up, but you get used to it. We don't use big marketing budgets or anything like that. We just rely on the fact that we have been here for ages and people know where to find us. It is just us and our piles of silk, day in and day out. We just keep the traditions going in our own small way.
