National Iron Foundry & Engg. Works is over at M-95, 7th Cross on Magadi Road. If you come by, you’ll hear the sounds of metal hitting metal long before you see the door. It’s a heavy environment, lots of iron and heat. We spend our days working with the molds and the machinery. It’s hard work and your clothes are usually covered in soot by the end of the shift. The floor is concrete and scarred from years of moving heavy parts around. We don't have a showroom or a reception desk. If you want to talk to us, you usually have to find us out on the floor near the furnaces. Magadi Road is a busy industrial area, so we fit right in with the noise and the trucks. We’ve been at this for a long time, and the methods haven't changed much because they work. We don't have a website or fancy brochures. People know us because we’ve been at the same spot for years. Sometimes the heat gets to be a bit much in the summer, but we just keep the fans going and carry on. It’s a lot of sweat and effort, but that’s what it takes to run a foundry. We focus on the iron and the engineering, and we leave the polished talk to other people. We’re just here to do the job and get the castings finished.
