Vishnu Forge Industries

Vishnu Forge Industries is based out of the HMT Industrial Estate, specifically in units C 01 and C 02. We are located on the Sarkhej Bavla stretch, which is quite a distance from the main city. It is an industrial area, so it’s not exactly quiet or clean around here. We have been working with metal for many years now. The workshop is big and has high ceilings, which helps with the heat from the forge, but it still gets very hot during the summer months. There is always the sound of hammers hitting metal and the hum of the machines running in the background. We start our shifts early, usually before the sun gets too high, so we can get the heavy work done while it’s still relatively cool. We keep our logs in big ledger books on a dusty desk in the corner. Most of the guys have been working here for a long time and they know exactly how the machines behave. We drink a lot of water and take short breaks in the shade of the mango tree just outside the main gate. The floor is covered in iron filings and grease, no matter how much we sweep it. The delivery trucks often have trouble backing into the narrow lane, so we spend time directing them with hand signals. It is hard work, but it is what we know how to do. We don't spend much time on the phone or computer unless we are checking on a shipment.
