Mahalaxsmi Wire Product

If you go down to Kottigepalya 6th Main and look for the 2nd Cross, you’ll find Mahalaxsmi Wire Product at Singapura Pradise Layout 53/1. It’s a bit of a mouthful to say the address, but it’s where we spend all our time. We spend our days surrounded by big spools of wire. Some of it is thick and hard to bend, while others are thin like thread. The sound of the wire drawing machines is constant, almost like a rhythm you get used to after a while. We started small and stayed that way because it's easier to keep track of things. Sometimes the wire tangles up and we have to spend an hour sorting it out by hand, which is annoying but necessary. Our shop at 53/1 is full of metal shavings and heavy wooden reels. We don't have a fancy coffee machine, just a kettle and some local tea bags in the cupboard. It gets pretty dusty here, so we’re always wiping down the desks. Most people who work here live nearby, so we all know each other’s families and what’s going on in the neighborhood. We aren't trying to change the world, just making sure the wire is cut to the right length and sent out on time. It’s a basic operation but it keeps us busy from morning till evening. Anyway, that is what we do here.
