My North Food

Whitefield is always moving so fast with all the big tech companies and traffic, but here at 1162, we try to keep things a bit more grounded. My North Food is really just about getting food out to people who miss a home-cooked taste. The kitchen is always hot, and there’s always a pot of something bubbling on the stove. It’s a small space, and we are often bumping into each other when the lunch rush starts. We don't have a big dining hall or fancy furniture. Most of what we do is focused on getting the orders ready for people to take away or for delivery. You’ll see our staff running around with containers and bags most of the day. The floor gets a bit slippery from the steam, so we have to be careful. We use simple ingredients that we buy from the local market nearby. There aren't any secret recipes or anything like that, just the way we learned to cook back home. Some days we run out of things early because we didn't expect so many people, and other days it’s quieter than we’d like. That’s just the nature of the food business, I guess. We don't have a big marketing team. People just find us by word of mouth or by seeing the address. It’s hard work, and we are usually pretty tired by the evening, but it’s satisfying.
