Mithilasmita Art Gallery

We are located right at 53 JP Nagar, just across from Brigade Millennium. It is a quiet spot most days, though the traffic outside can get a bit loud during the rush hour. We have been here for a while now, focusing on traditional art and the local scene. The gallery isn't very large, but we make use of every inch of wall space we have. Sometimes the light hits the front window just right in the afternoons and makes the paintings look different than they do in the morning. People often walk by while they are out for a stroll around the neighborhood. We spend a lot of time just arranging things and talking to folks who happen to wander in. There is usually a bit of dust on the frames that needs wiping down every day. It started out as just a small idea because we liked seeing what local artists were doing. Now it is just where we spend our days. You can find us easily if you know where the big apartment complex is. We don't have fancy furniture or anything, just some chairs and the art. It feels like home after all these years. Sometimes we have tea while looking at new pieces that come in. It isn't a high-pressure place at all. Most of the time, we are just sitting here, waiting for the next person to come through the door and say hello. The neighborhood has changed quite a bit since we first opened up shop here.
