Mary Engineering

Our shop is at 61/3 in Kala Nagar, right in the Kammagondana Halli area. It’s a bit of a trek to get out here if you aren't from this side of town, but we’ve been here at Mary Engineering for a long time. The building is simple, just a concrete structure that stays pretty warm in the summer. We spend most of our time out on the floor or working at the benches. There’s always a bit of grease on the floor and the smell of metal in the air, which is just part of the job. We don’t have a fancy office with air conditioning; we mostly just leave the big doors open to catch whatever breeze comes through Kala Nagar. Most of the people who work here have been around for years, so we all know each other’s habits. We don’t really go for big meetings or long emails; if something needs to be said, we just shout it across the room. The workbench is cluttered with tools and scraps of metal that we might need later. It’s a hands-on kind of place. We don't spend much time worrying about how the front of the shop looks as long as the work we’re doing is solid. If you drop by, you’ll likely find us in our work shirts, probably busy with something. It’s just how things are done here in Kammagondana Halli at 61/3.
