Maruthhi Enterprises

Down in Chickpet, specifically on Bhamia Road in the Thahal Market area, you’ll find Maruthhi Enterprises. We’re at number 28. If you’ve ever been to Thahal Market, you know it’s a total scramble. There are carts, motorbikes, and people everywhere. Our shop is stuffed with all sorts of things, mostly general goods and items that people need for their own small businesses. The shelves are made of old wood and they sag a bit in the middle because of the weight. We’ve been meaning to fix them for two years, but we never seem to find the time. Most of our day is spent unloading boxes or counting out items for customers who are in a hurry. It’s loud and it’s sweaty, but we like the energy of the market. We know the tea seller who comes by at 11 am and 4 pm sharp. That’s usually the highlight of the day. We don't have a website or anything like that. People just find us by walking through the market and seeing our sign. The floor is always a bit dusty from the street outside, no matter how much we sweep. It’s a family-run thing, so there’s usually a cousin or a nephew around helping out. We just keep moving, trying to stay ahead of the orders and keeping our regulars happy. It’s a busy life but we wouldn't have it any other way.
