Manjunath Coffee Centre

Manjunath Coffee Centre is located right on the Hanumanth Nagar Market Yard Road. We are surrounded by wholesalers and people carrying heavy bags of produce. Because of where we are, our day starts way before most people are even awake. We have to get the milk delivered and the coffee grinders started by five in the morning. The smell of roasting beans fills the air around the market yard. It’s a small shop with just enough room for the counters and a few stools. Most people don’t stay long; they just want a quick cup of coffee or tea while they are doing their business at the market. We go through hundreds of small glass cups every day. Washing them all takes up a lot of our time. We use a lot of sugar and ginger, so we always have to make sure we don't run out mid-shift. The noise from the trucks outside is constant, and we often have to shout to hear each other. We’ve been here a long time, and we know the names of most of the vendors nearby. It is a simple life, focused on making sure the coffee is hot and the milk is fresh. We don't have any fancy machines, just the old-fashioned way of doing things that seems to work fine for everyone here. We try to keep it simple.
