Maheswari Engineering

Our shop, Maheswari Engineering, sits right on Rama Mandir Road in Kaveripura. It’s a busy little area, and honestly, the noise from the street usually blends right in with our own machines. We are at No-65/2, which isn't hard to find once you get into Kamakshipalya. Most of the guys here have been working with metal for a long time. We don't spend much time cleaning up the floor until the end of the week, so there is usually a lot of scrap lying around. It’s a tight space, but we make it work. Sometimes the traffic on the road makes it hard for the trucks to back in, and we end up shouting at each other just to get things moved. It’s just the daily routine of a mechanical workshop. We do a lot of small parts and repairs for people in the neighborhood and businesses nearby. Nobody wears a suit here. We are mostly in oil-stained clothes from morning until late evening. Sometimes we stay late when a job is being stubborn, drinking tea and trying to figure out a tricky weld. It isn't a glamorous life, but we like being right here in the middle of the community. People know they can just walk in and talk to us directly without having to wait for an appointment or deal with a secretary. It’s just us and the machines and a lot of long days spent working.
