Mahaveer Tea House

If you head over to 210 Sultanpet, you’ll find us on the first floor. We’re right in the middle of K R Market, which anyone will tell you is one of the busiest places you can find. Being near Chickpet means there is never a quiet moment. We’ve been running Mahaveer Tea House from this spot, and it’s always smelled like tea leaves around here. You have to walk up the stairs to get to us since we aren’t on the ground level. The market downstairs is full of people selling everything from flowers to hardware, but up here, it’s all about the tea. We handle different varieties and spend our time weighing bags and talking to shopkeepers who buy from us. It’s a lot of lifting and shifting sacks. We don't have a big fancy showroom, just a functional space where the work gets done. Sometimes the heat in the market is a bit much, but the breeze on the first floor helps a little. We have customers who have been coming to us for years because they know exactly where we are and what to expect. It’s a bit of a maze getting through Sultanpet sometimes with all the carts and scooters, but once you’re here, it’s just us and the tea. We don’t bother with much else besides making sure the leaf is what it should be. It’s a simple life in a crowded neighborhood.
