Mahalakshimi Tea Center

You can find us over at 12 Akkipet, right on Binni Mill Road. It is one of those old parts of the city where everything feels a bit crowded but familiar. We spend most of our time dealing with sacks of tea and making sure the jars are full. The smell of tea is everywhere in our shop, which I guess is better than the smell of the traffic outside. Binni Mill Road is always packed with vehicles and people rushing somewhere. We open up pretty early because that is when the regulars start showing up. The floor is old stone and it’s seen a lot of feet over the years. We have a few wooden benches for people to sit on if they aren't in a hurry. Sometimes we run out of change and have to run next door to ask the other shopkeepers for help. It is that kind of neighborhood where everyone knows each other’s business. We don’t have a website or anything like that. People just know where we are by the big tea containers in the window. The lights inside are a bit dim, but we know where everything is kept even in the dark. It is just a simple tea center where we go about our daily routine without much fuss. We like the rhythm of the place and the people we see every day. There is always something to do.
