Madhu Mineral Enterprises

Madhu Mineral Enterprises is over at 240, 2nd Main, in the Nine Cross area of RMV 2nd Stage. It’s a decent area, a bit more open than the old city markets. Our space is basically a warehouse and a small office area attached to it. We deal with minerals, so things can get a little dusty inside. We try to keep the bags stacked neatly, but when you’re moving things around all day, it’s hard to stay perfectly tidy. The staff here is small, just a few of us who have been together for years. We know the 2nd Main road well, especially the potholes that appear after the monsoon. Most of our day is spent checking the quality of the minerals coming in and making sure the outgoing loads are secure. We don't have a big reception area or anyone to greet you with a tray of water. You just walk in, find someone in the back, and tell them what you need. We have an old computer for the bills, but most of our planning happens on a big chalkboard on the wall. It’s a basic way to run things, but it works for us. The neighborhood is quiet enough that we can hear the birds in the morning before the trucks start arriving. It’s a steady, practical life handling the earth’s materials. We close up around six most days once the last truck leaves the gate.
