Madhu Lemon Co is over at Agaram Post in Patel Nagar at building number 290. Dealing with lemons means our day starts way before the sun is even up. We get the crates in from the farms and start sorting through them. Patel Nagar is a decent spot to be in, though the roads can get cramped when the delivery trucks are parked. Our place at number 290 is basically a big warehouse area with a small desk for the books. The scent of citrus is everywhere, which is nice most of the time. We aren’t a huge corporation; it’s just a family-style operation here. Everyone helps with the sorting and the cleaning. We don’t have a marketing team or anything like that. We just sell lemons to whoever needs them, from local grocers to bigger distributors. Sometimes the floor gets a bit sticky from the juice, but we clean it up at the end of the shift. Agaram Post is our home base and we’ve been here for years. You can usually find us sitting outside on the crates when there is a lull in the work. It’s a simple life, but it keeps the lights on. We don’t promise anything fancy, just lemons that are ready for the market. That is how we run things here at Madhu Lemon Co every day.
