Lakshmi Timbers

Lakshmi Timbers is based out of the Lakshmi and Co. building at 73, Bavani Main Road in Perundurai. If you know the road, you know it’s always got heavy traffic moving through. We deal with wood all day, so the yard is usually full of the scent of fresh-cut timber and a lot of sawdust. It gets everywhere, even in our tea if we aren't careful. We’ve got a good amount of space here at number 73, which is lucky because logs take up a lot of room. Most of our morning is spent unloading trucks or helping people pick out what they need for their projects. Perundurai is a place where people know the value of hard work, and we try to live up to that. The sun can beat down pretty hard on the main road, so we spend a lot of time under the shade of the tin roof. It’s loud here with the saws running and the trucks passing by, but you get used to it after a week or two. We aren't interested in being a big fancy company; we just want to provide the timber people ask for. We have our regulars who come by, and we usually have a quick chat before getting back to work. It’s a straightforward life here on Bavani Main Road, just us and the wood. We just do the work that needs doing.
