Konark Silks

You will find Konark Silks located at Number 75 on Jumma Masjid Road. This is an incredibly busy street, especially when the weekend rolls around. There is always the smell of street food in the air and the constant sound of people bargaining for better prices nearby. We have been in this exact spot for many years now. The shop itself isn't very large, but we keep it packed full of silk rolls from floor to ceiling. We spend a good portion of our day unrolling heavy fabric for customers to look at and then rolling it all back up neatly afterward. It is actually quite a workout for your arms by the time evening comes. My father used to be the one running everything here, and now I am the one behind the counter most days. We don't use any of those high-tech computer systems to keep track of what we have. It is mostly just handwritten notebooks and our own memory. The bright colors of the silk are honestly the best part of being here. Even on a gloomy or rainy day, the shop looks cheerful because of all the stock on the shelves. We have some customers who have been buying from us since they were young children. We don't bother with big advertisements. Most people in the area just know we are here on the road. We usually sit on the floor to check new stock when the weavers bring it in.
