Kodandnaram

Kodandnaram is tucked away in the Shri Mahavir Textile Market in Jayanagar 1st Block. Being at number 439, we are right in the middle of all the cloth shops. It is a very busy place, especially in the mornings when the new stock arrives. We have rolls of fabric everywhere, sometimes even on the floor when we run out of shelf space. The market has a very specific smell of new cotton and dyes. There are always people walking through the aisles looking for deals. We spend a lot of time unrolling fabric and cutting it for customers. My hands get tired from the scissors by the end of the day. The lighting in the market isn't the best, so we have some extra lamps to show the colors better. It is a small space and it gets very hot when the crowd builds up. We have a small stool behind the counter where I sit when there is a quiet moment. We don't do any fancy displays. We just put the cloth out where people can see it and feel the quality. Most of our regular customers have been coming to this block for a long time. They know where to find us. It is just a regular textile shop in a big market. We focus on the work and try to keep up with the pace of the Jayanagar shopping area.
