Kissan

Kissan is our shop located at Gandhi Nagar Hughes Road 3. It’s a bit of an old building, so the walls have some cracks and the paint is peeling in some spots. We don't mind it. We’ve been here for a long time. People stop by for various things they need for their homes or small farming projects. We have some seeds, some basic tools, and other daily necessities piled up on the wooden shelves. It smells a bit like earth and dry grain inside. We don't use any fancy computer systems for our billing; it’s mostly just a pen and a notebook. It works fine for us. Sometimes we sit outside on a plastic stool when there are no customers and watch the cars go by on Hughes Road. It’s a busy street but our corner feels a bit slower. We know most of the families around here. They come in to chat as much as they do to buy anything. We try to keep the prices fair because we know everyone is working hard. The ceiling fan is quite old and makes a lot of noise, but we don't even hear it anymore. We aren't looking to expand or anything like that. Just staying here and serving the people who have been coming to us for years is enough. It’s a simple life at number 3. We keep the door open until the sun goes down and then we lock up.
