We've been at the Aslam Compound near Kamani Oil Mills for a good while now. It’s right there in Andheri East, specifically the Sakinaka area. Kavitha Real Estate Agency is just a small office where we handle local property stuff. My cousin and I mostly deal with the Jayanagar and Sreenagar neighborhoods. People just walk in after seeing the sign. It’s not a fancy place, just some desks and a lot of paperwork. Sometimes the tea guy from around the corner forgets our order, but that’s how it goes in this part of Mumbai. We know the landlords around Chandivali pretty well. If someone needs a place to rent or wants to sell their old flat, they usually come talk to us. We don't have a big website or anything, just our phone and this office. The traffic outside can get pretty loud during the day because of the main road. We try to keep things simple here. There's no need for complicated talk when you're just looking for a roof over your head. We've seen the area change quite a bit over the years. New buildings coming up where old ones used to be. It keeps us busy enough. Most of our days are spent checking out sites or waiting for clients who are running late because of the traffic near the oil mills. It's just honest work we do every day. The ceiling fan in the corner makes a bit of a clicking sound when it’s on high, but we’ve gotten used to it. We keep our files in those big steel cupboards and sometimes it takes a minute to find the right folder. It’s a bit old-fashioned but it works for us and the people who come to see us. We’re usually here from nine in the morning until the sun goes down, just trying to help neighbors find what they need in this crowded city.
