About Karnataka Royal Candles – Housewares & Supplies in Bengaluru
Our workshop is in Shivaji Nagar, over in Anand Nagar. We are in the Abhala Ashraya Sangha Building, which is 4b. If you find St Mary’s Church, we are right behind it. It is a busy part of the city, but our corner stays relatively calm. We make candles here at Karnataka Royal Candles. It’s a bit of a messy process with the wax and the scents, but we enjoy it. The building we are in has a lot of history and it feels like a good place to be. We have several different types of molds and we spend our days pouring wax and setting wicks. It’s a very manual job. Our hands usually smell like jasmine or sandalwood by the end of the day. We don't have a fancy showroom. Most of our candles are packed up and sent out to shops or people who order them directly. The space is filled with boxes and racks where the candles cool down. It can get quite hot in the summer because of the melting pots. We have a small group of people who help with the pouring and the packaging. We aren't trying to be a massive factory. We just like making things that people use in their homes or for special occasions. It is a simple life and the work is steady. Being near the church means there’s always a bit of life around the area.
