Karnataka Jute Exports is situated at No. 3 Old Tharagupet Cross. This area is known for trading, and we’ve been right in the middle of it for quite a while. The smell of raw jute is the first thing you notice when you walk in. It’s an earthy, heavy scent that stays on your clothes. We handle a lot of sacks and bulk materials here. The floor is made of old stone and it’s seen a lot of heavy lifting. We don't have a fancy showroom. It’s more of a warehouse where the focus is on the inventory. We spend most of our time checking the quality of the fibers and making sure the bales are packed tightly. It’s dusty work, and we all wear old clothes because there’s no point in dressing up. The office part is just a small corner with a wooden desk that’s been here since the start. We deal with people from all over who need jute for different things. Sometimes the shipments are late because of the rain, and we just have to deal with it. It’s a very straightforward business. No marketing gimmicks or polished sales pitches. We just know our product and we’ve been doing this long enough to know what works. It’s hard, physical work, but it’s what we know best.
