Kalathriu Foods & Beverages

Our place, Kalathriu Foods & Beverages, is tucked away at number 19 in Jalahalli, over in the Kalathur Gardens area. It is a nice enough spot near the Lakshmipura Cross. We get a lot of students walking past our doors because the Smbram P U C College is right nearby. You can always tell when the classes are over because the street suddenly fills up with young people talking and laughing. We handle a lot of different food and drink items inside here. The gardens around the area make it feel a bit greener and quieter than the main city parts. It is a bit of a trek to get here if you do not know the local cross roads very well. Inside, we have our supplies stacked up and the kitchen area going. It is never a silent place; there is usually the sound of crates moving or something boiling on the stove. We started Kalathriu because we wanted to do something useful with food in this part of Jalahalli. The neighbors are mostly families and some other small shops. We spend a lot of our time cleaning up and checking the stock we have on hand. Sometimes the power goes out for an hour in the afternoon, so we just sit outside on the steps and talk to whoever is passing by. It is a very practical sort of business. We do not have fancy lights or big signs, just the name on the door and the work we do.
