John Distilleries Ltd.

We are based at No.110, Pantharapalaya, right along the Mysore Road. It’s a busy stretch of road and we’ve been here at John Distilleries Ltd. for quite some time. The smell of the grain and the sound of the vats are just part of the everyday atmosphere. It’s a big operation, but we try to keep things grounded. There’s always a lot of coming and going with the delivery trucks and the staff switching shifts. We don't have much time for sitting around. The pipes and the tanks need constant watching to make sure everything is running like it should. It can get pretty humid inside, especially during the summer months, but nobody complains much. We just get on with the bottling and the labeling. It’s a lot of repetition, but it’s what we do. Mysore Road is always loud with traffic, so we kind of blend into the background of the industrial area. We don't go around telling people we’re the best or anything like that; we just focus on the batches we’re working on today. The history of the place is etched into the walls, and you can see where we’ve made repairs over the years. It’s a functional space where work is the priority. We keep our heads down, watch the gauges, and make sure the crates are loaded up right before they head out to wherever they’re going.
