Jay Agencies

If you look behind the Janatha Bazaar, you’ll find the Bccw Store Compound, and that is where Jay Agencies is at 4/2. It’s a tucked-away spot, so you have to know where you are going to find us. Being in a compound like this means it’s a bit quieter than the main street, but there’s still plenty of movement with deliveries coming in. The space is mostly a warehouse with a small area for us to sit and handle the orders. It’s a bit dark inside because the building is old and doesn't have many big windows. We use a lot of overhead lights and just keep the main door open for air. Jay Agencies has been here for a while, and the walls are covered in old calendars and notes we’ve scribbled over the years. We handle all sorts of different items depending on what our clients need. It’s not the kind of place where you’d find a showroom. It’s strictly for business. We spend our days loading and unloading stuff or checking the inventory lists. Sometimes we sit out in the compound for a break when the weather is nice. It’s a very grounded way to work. No one is trying to impress anyone here; we just want to make sure the boxes get to where they need to go on time. It’s basic, manual work mostly, but it keeps the business running and the days go by fast.
