Jat Novelty is right in the heart of the Dandi Swami Market in Chickpet. If you have ever been to Chickpet, you know exactly how crowded and loud the streets get every single day. Our shop is located at number 8. We have been here for a long time, even before the roads felt quite this narrow. We sell all sorts of small items and novelties. It is a bit of a mix of everything, really. We do not have a specific theme for what we sell, just things that we think people in the market might want to buy. The space is quite small, and almost every inch of the wall is covered with different items. I have worked in this market since I was a young man. These days, my son comes in to help me out during the busiest hours of the afternoon. It is a lot of work trying to keep track of every little thing we have in stock. The light bulbs flickered for a whole week before I finally found the time to change them yesterday. That is just how it goes when you are busy. We deal with wholesale orders mostly, but individuals come in to browse too. There is a lot of talking and bargaining involved in a place like this. We do not have air conditioning, just a bit of a breeze from the doorway when it isn't blocked by a passing cart.
